Gabriel’s passage for July 18 – 24, 2016: this is the beginning of a new phase

This week we get the possibility to close a stressful phase of our lives – if only we do not expect too much of ourselves and allow ourselves to step beyond the frame of our usual thinking and acting. It won’t be easy – we have been used to get what we want through much striving and pressing further, but now exactôly those behaviours seem counterproductive – they wouldn’t be anything but repetition of our usual behaviour. Now we need to let go of our control of the situation, adjust to the opportunities as they arise, and keep focused on our feeling of inner peace and balance.

For at least one second let us not obsess about how things should develop and whether we move forward at an appropriate pace. We’ll go as fast as we can; we will take the road that can be taken. Even if it does seem to be just a detour, this detaour may be only temporary and may teach us something we shall be asked to apply in the future.

If we want to change direction, the conditions for the change have to be in place first. If we were able to create them out of where we stand today, we‘d already be moving in our new direction… Every little turn and redundant detour may be part of the big picture that comprises our so much wished-for goal. Yet big pictures can be seen only in retrospect; so trying to control the development is a rather pointless and absurd endeavor as we have no idea how things shall fit together. And until then, we have to learn to trust.
